The Shift — Rachel Hubbard Kline

The Shift is a project I began on September 22, 2016, the first day of fall. For one year (or longer!), I will be wearing clothing (mostly dresses) I make as my main item of clothing. Some of the dresses I wear will be items made in the U.S. or were made by my mother or grandmother. This project rose out of my interest in means of production of goods, sustainability of materials, and fair labor. The clothing is mostly made from yardage of fabric from my existing collection, or that of my grandmother, mother, or aunt.
